Rev. Mary Miller has been called to serve as the new Associate Executive Minister
of Mid- American Baptist Churches. Rev. Miller has 23 years of experience as an American
Baptist pastor, serving congregations in urban and rural settings.
In addition to pastoral ministry, Rev. Miller has served as Coordinator of the
Conflict Management Network for ABC of Ohio and has been on the faculty of their
Lay Pastor Training Program, teaching conflict management and ethics. While serving
in Indiana, Rev. Miller was a Field Education Supervisor for Christian Theological
Leadership positions held within the American Baptist family include serving on
the National Ministries Small Church Team, Women in Ministry and Minister's Council
in ABC of Indiana, the Ohio Baptist Education Society, and camping ministries in
both Indiana and Ohio. Rev. Miller has a strong commitment to American Baptist missions,
and last spring led a team of sixteen on a mission trip to serve with ABC missionaries
in Nicaragua. For the past 12 years, Rev. Miller has served First Baptist Church
of Fredericktown, Ohio, as pastor.
Iowa Religious Media Services (IRMS) is announcing a new partnership with the Mid-American
Baptist Churches when IRMS moves to shared space later this summer. "This arrangement
will benefit both of us," said IRMS Executive Director Sharon E. Strohmaier. "In
these times, denomination and individual church dollars are increasingly precious.
Sharing space and amenities will allow us both to provide even better stewardship
of our financial and educational resources."
"We're looking forward to this new partnership," said Mid-American Baptist Executive
Minister Marshall Peters. "Iowa Religious Media Services is a vital resource for
our churches and we were only utilizing half of the space we own. To fill that space
with such a dynamic denominational resource is a plus for us and IRMS's five other

of Lakes and Prairies Presbyterian Church (USA), the Iowa Conference of the United

providing churches theologically solid, professionally produced media resources for
Christian education for all ages, worship, spiritual growth and healing, as well
as strategies for effective use of those resources.
